Alumina Balls For Arsenic & Fluoride Removal

Alsorb-F, a true grade of activated alumina, is a popular technology for fluoride removal from aqueous solutions. It is highly porous and has a high surface area, making it an attractive adsorbent. The minimum adsorption capacity for fluoride is 2.85mg/g of alumina. The effectiveness of alumina balls for arsenic and fluoride removal depends on factors such as influent fluoride or arsenic level, pH level, contact time, competing ions, and preconditioning. The optimum pH level is 5.5 to 6.5, and the contact time is 5 minutes. The adsorption capacity is enhanced after conditioning, with the first regeneration acting as a conditioning step.
